What is Allergy ?


In some people, the immune system reacts to certain substances (allergens), producing a variety of chemicals. One of them, histamine causes allergic symptoms. The reaction of the organism can occur through inhalation, skin contact, introduction of the allergen or receiving it in food. Allergens can be animal dander, feathers, dust, foods, cosmetics, medicines, pollen, cigarette smoke.

An allergic reaction may occur at different parts of the body, and the symptoms can last from a few minutes to several days.
- Upper respiratory tract: hay fever, asthma;
- Bloodshot, watery eyes;
- The pain and inflammation of the joints;
- Urticaria, eczema;
- Diarrhea, vomiting, stomach upset.

- Anaphylactic shock (severe allergic reaction);
- Shortness of breath or wheezing;
- Rapid pulse;
- Cold sweat;
- Clammy skin;
- Urticaria;
- Stomach cramps;
- Dizziness;
- Nausea;
- Collapse (acute vascular insufficiency);
- Convulsions.

In the absence of medical assistance severe allergy can be fatal.
